If he cared for her to any degree, he would find a good home for Andy. He would use a pet sitter so she wouldn't have to “hold it” for 10 hours. 6 hours is the accepted time. 10 hrs is considered abuse. How many forms of abuse does it take to qualify for removal? Mr Blinn admitted to me this abuse and seemed to think nothing of it. If the Dallas police had questioned him you would have had this information instead of finding it out from me.
Lt Miller of Fayetteville police said his officer was not the owner and therefor not involved and they were not going to do an investigation as they were using the Dallas police investigation and report. He continued to state his officer was not the owner and the Dallas investigation was complete and closed.
I wish this had been handled in a more professional manner.
What about the dog?
I live in Baton Rouge with a sister in Dallas, GA. She called me late last night, and when I answered, I heard her say something and the phone went dead. I called her back repeatedly and never got an answer. After 40 minutes I finally called the Dallas Police Dept. Their response was immediate. An officer was at her front door within minutes. They are the best!
Cobb County Detective Malone told me officer Blinn was not investigated only questioned, his word accepted with no visit to his home.
I had asked that Officer Blinn apologize to me face to face. Detective Malone refused. Instead, he offered an apology. It was not he who trapped me. It was clear the detectives concern was for his officer.
Detective Malone asked me what I wished to happen as a result of Officer Blinn trapping me in my garage. Why wasn't this taken seriously? Is it acceptable for an officer to use his position to trap a woman by herself?
Since I filed my case and Mr Blinn cornered me in my garage November 1st, there has been no visible improvement in this dogs(Andy) life
The owner continues to be referred to by Fayetteville and Cobb County Police as officer Blinn instead of- the owner or Mr Blinn. If the owner had been someone outside of law enforcement, would the owner also be referred to by his job position? “The owner- a cashier at Home Depot, or Ms Smith a manager at Kohls”…?
As the detective had only your report to go on, the situation was taken as a he said she said. Detective Malone spent time November 6th advising me not to speak to his officer, step on his officers property, not to bother his officer. The focus remained on the owners job. He was concerned I would cause a problem for him.
All of this is still being made about the owner and the owners job and not the dog.
3 police departments have attempted to convince me an investigation had been conducted. Tried to convince me nothing needed to be done as there was no abuse.
What about the dog?
I believe the public needs to be made aware the Dallas Police closed an investigation that was not conducted, that you allowed an officer use his position to intimidate a woman. How the focus has been to protect an officer and ignore the reason the case was filed- the abuse of an animal.
Edited by me- letter sent to Dallas police
What about the dog?
It has come to my attention that the “investigation” into this matter has been closed. The case report is incomplete and incorrect. I absolutely did Not say the dog was Never let outside to do her business. Big distinction. Items missing: Dog left alone for up to 10 hours on a regular basis(acknowledged abuse), only allowed in small area of main floor, Rarely walked(report says never) or regularly played with in the yard. The street address is incorrect. Obviously the owner was later known as the Fayetteville and Cobb County police identified the owner and knew of the report. The fact that they were notified indicates the owner and roommate were identified. How can you conduct an investigation when you fail to speak with the owner? Fail to speak with the roommate? Fail to visit inside the house? Fail to see the dog?Sargent Cox had viewed the dog through a window. How can an accurate, complete assessment be made through a window? Is this the manner in which you conduct other animal abuse cases? Do your other animal abuse cases center around the owners job? Do you question the owners of other abused animals? Visit the dogs in the house? Question the people living in the house? Neighbors? Family?
